Why Remember All Your Past Lives?

By Article Guy On January 11, 2010 Under Philosophy and Religion

There are many things we can do in order to find out more about our past lives whether we believe in reincarnation or not. Interestingly enough though, the amount of people who believe in reincarnation far exceeds the number who don’t. In fact, reincarnation forms the backbone of many religions with Hinduism and Buddhism being just two of them. For many who don;t have any spiritual connection, reincarnation offers a common sense approach to solving some of life’s many mysteries.

Documenting Your Experiences

One of the best ways to learn about your past lives is to begin a journal. You should write down the things you experience, even those experiences that may seem insignificant. While including the way you feel about any event, since our emotions are the strongest clues we have, that may relate to a past life. Journaling your experiences creates a written record that can aid you in piecing your clues together when using it later as a reference.

You will find clues in your present life and you should record them as well. These may include issues such as foods, climates, cultures and historical occurrences as well as things from your childhood and what you think about such things as architectural designs. You may want to include all those instances of experiencing dj vu as well as your natural gifts and talents or personality characteristics, innate fears and phobias as well as any distinguishing birthmarks and scars or occupations you feel drawn too. These things all contribute to building up a picture of a past life.

On many occasions, experiences from past lives can show themselves in a dream so for this reason,it’s advisable to keep a note of your dreams, especially when you feel there is any indication that some aspects of a dream represent a past life. Keep in mind that dreams can often be a combination of of past and present experiences. Also, because the human mind can be very receptive to suggestion, one should suggest to yourself just as you’re going to sleep that you wish to recall memories from past lives. It is then essential that you write down the details of any dream follow such suggestions.

Past Life Regression Therapy

Of course not everyone is in a position to meet with a past life regression therapist but if you can then it is certainly advisable that you do. Being professionals in this field, these people are trained and certified to offer guidance as well as to assist you in understanding any of the information you may receive. The International Association of Regression, Research and Therapies, together with the International Association of Past Life Therapists, both train and certify people in this field and are therefor able to offer assistance should you encounter any problems finding a reputable therapist.

Meditation

Meditation is one of the various ways to aid you in exploring your past lives. Although, meditation is a private technique that helps to find out about a past life, however, many individuals may have a hard time trusting the information that they receive, therefore, you should always trust your feelings and instincts when receiving such clues.

With images constantly fading in and fading out, meditation can very often appear to be much the same as daydreaming. However, you should make sure you write everything down so that you can go over it at your leisure, at a time that best suits you. One should remember though, because the human mind is so receptive to suggestion, if you tell yourself you can’t recall past life experiences, then you simply won’t be able to.

Some individuals find that having a visual or audio stimulus, such as the flame of a candle or a sound is useful for meditation. You may be interested in using a pre-recorded guided meditation session from your therapist or listening to music or specific sounds such a Tibetan bells or the repeated sound of om.

A recent discovery using audio technology, known as binaural beats, is proving to be extremely effective at inducing an instant state of relaxation. Test results show that playing sound waves of different frequencies into each ear, produces a state of relaxation just as deep and intense as that which is experienced by Zen monks.

No matter which form of meditation technique you may use, be sure that it is somewhere peacefully comfortable while allowing no disturbances while meditating for the best results.

Lie down or sit in a comfortable position, while being in a receptive and positive frame of mind. You will focus on relaxing your muscles while quieting your mind. When undesirable concerns enter your mind, simply acknowledge them and then let then pass, however it may take some practice to do so. You should focus on your heart, while not expecting anything but relaxing. When questions arise, ask them and then let them go. The answers will come to you, when you least expect them.

The images you receive will help you resolve something in your life, and that is what is important whatever your belief in reincarnation. It may not always be possible to prove that these images really are from a previous life, although many people do get enough information to actually research and verify names, places and events.

Interestingly, many individuals, do find that the people they love presently were with them in a previous lifetime, however, their relationship status may be very different. For instance, your brother may have been your father of husband in a previous lifetime.

Whatever you may believe about reincarnation and past lives, most people who do try regression find what they receive to be helpful and interesting, no matter what their initial belief.
