New Book Explores Another Aspect of God

By Article Guy On November 13, 2009 Under Philosophy and Religion

It’s not something that everyone gives much thought to, the innocence of God. But according to the author T. Russell Benedict, it’s intrinsic to the very character of God Himself. But what does it mean, really?

Among other things, innocence includes being free from guilt, free from negative intentions, and in some ways, even freedom from even the knowledge of evil. Do these definitions apply to God? They, without a doubt, do!

To get a deeper handle on the very nature of innocence, the author then takes us into the innocent nature of children, and how they react to things around them. And by drawing parallels between them, he peels back new levels of the character of God as well, and why He sometimes does things that don’t make sense at first.

So given that God has this innocence aspect to his nature, how does it affect how He deals with Man in general? Can our understanding this innocence add depth to our understanding of His overall character? Can we gain a deeper knowledge of, and appreciation for, His holiness, mercy, and love? Will it help us better understand His deep senses of Justice, Fairness, and even Jealousy? The undeniable answer is Yes!

Can understanding His innocence better answer those haunting questions of why He created us, why He created Satan, why He created Hell, and even why He chose to allow His son to die a cruel death on Earth? This answer is likewise YES.

But then the author takes us to the nuts of bolts of his discussion. How should we respond to this innocence in God’s character? What response should this produce in us? If God is actually innocent by nature as suggested, does He really deserve to receive all the anger, hate, and disrespect that people dish out on Him every day? Would we treat a child the same way?

This book, available at http://www.TheInnocenceOfGod.com in both ebook and paperback, challenges some of the very ways we think about God. You can’t read this discussion without having some new insights of your own. It’s the kind of idea that stays in your thoughts, long after you finish reading about it. It belongs in the home of every person who wants to understand God better, and how He interacts with us every day.
