Planning A Romantic Honeymoon

By Article Guy On February 20, 2010 Under Marriage Advice

Your honeymoon should be a time of relaxation and bonding. Yet, poorly planning a honeymoon can result in it being stressful and frustrating. Here are some tips to apply to make sure your honeymoon goes as smoothly as it possibly can.

Of the utmost importance is to talk over with your future spouse their preferences regarding the honeymoon. You should not assume that you already know what type of honeymoon they would prefer. Have a thorough discussion of location, budget, duration and accommodation. Both of you need to first write your own list of preferences and you should then make a comparison to find areas that overlap.

Consult with travel agents as they can be a great help with planning a honeymoon and can advise you based on your joint preferences. Honeymoons are one of the few areas that travel agents still receive a commission on booking, meaning that they will normally put extra effort in to helping you.

After you have consulted with a travel agent and have an idea of the likely cost, make a honeymoon savings plan and begin putting a money aside for it on a weekly basis. You could also ask the travel agent if they provide a honeymoon registry, which allows guests to pay a portion of your honeymoon costs in lieu of a wedding gift.

Look to pre-pay as much as possible. Minor expenses such as tips and souvenirs~souvenirs and tips}, tend to be manageable expenses, however, if you forget to allocate money for extra luggage, spa treatments, or car rental, you can easily find yourselves short of money whilst away.

Once you have budgeted your money and booked, the last thing to do is pack your suitcases. Do this well in advance as it will be one less thing to concern yourself with in the frantic approach to your wedding. The later you leave it, the greater likelihood there is of you leaving something behind.
