The Key to Toning Your Abs
Building your abs is one thing.? I’d like to talk a little bit about toning your abs before I move onto the next set of exercises.
Hopefully, you’ve figured it out by now:? all the crunches in the world will do you no good if you keep eating fast food and drink sodas for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.? Let’s consider the model of your average retired wide receiver:? when he was younger, chances are very good that he was a good 190 pounds of solid muscle.? Most of this happened, of course, because he was working out five days per week and had a very strict diet.? His abs were toned because he worked himself so hard for so much of the time that he was awake that, naturally, he had the sort of body that people like you and I spent our entire lives being jealous of.? He didn’t have to worry about toning his abs then because it was part of his daily routine.
Now let’s fast-forward to five years after his retirement:? This same wide receiver is fat, slow, and a little grumpy.? Let’s ignore for the moment that he’s not making the money he was years ago, doesn’t have beautiful women throwing themselves at him anymore and is no longer being driven around Miami in a limo.?
His abs don’t have the tone they had before.? Now I guaranteed you that you’ll probably break a few knuckles if you try to punch him in the stomach.? So why is it that you can’t see the ripples of his ab muscles?
I hinted at the answer to your question earlier, but in case you missed it let me spell it out for you a little more clearly:? as far as abs go, toning your abs is really all about diet.? You can have the strongest, hardest set of abs in the world;?but if your diet is still chock full of poly-unsaturated fats and you’re not countering your muscle-building workouts with some good cardio, you will never get the ripple effect you’re looking for.? This can be frustrating for those of you who still like your Big Macs, but hey:? in every goal there is some level of sacrifice that has to be made.? No one ever said this was going to be easy.? Besides:? Ray Croc has enough of your money, anyway.
Change your diet to include lean meats and lots of vegetables, try to eat fresh
un-processed food whenever possible and you will start reaching your goals sooner then you think.
