How to get rid of stretchmarks

Stretchmarks can develop when the skin is stretched rapidly : More accurately, the skin’s second layer is not stretched, but torn. Stretchmarks are most common around the stomach, breasts, thighs and hips. Both men and woman can suffer from striae (the technical term for stretch marks) and they affect the majority of the population. Fortunately, they aren’t harmful to our health and are simply a cosmetic concern. Of course, As it becomes warmer, and we wear fewer clothes, our concerns about stretch marks increase.

How do stretch marks occur?

This Stretching happens when the body grows so fast that the skin can’t stretch quick enough to keep up with it. Stretch marks are most commonly associated with pregnancy but are also a normal part of puberty: Body building or quick weight gain can also cause stretch marks.

Although skin is normally very elastic , when it is overstretched, the normal production of collagen is disrupted. collagen to make sure the skin stays tight and supple. When initially formed, stretch marks can look red and/or purple and be very visible. They are indented and feel different to the rest of the skin. as they get older, the deep colour fades, turning a silvery colour. Depending on individuals, the stretch marks can heal to a degree but it is unlikely that they will completely disappear.

Remove stretch marks

There are several methods of removing stretch marks. Stretch mark treatments Come in all sorts of varieties of price, procedure and effectiveness, treatments range from the application of cream to having laser treatments to try to remove them for most people, stretch marks are a sign of imperfection and often make people feel self concious, but this can be overcome or prevented by treatment to remove stretch marks.

Creams and oils are sold over the counter and are the chepest way to treat stretch marks however, only a minor percentage of cream is absorbed into the skin therfore, creams are not really the best treatment for stretch marks. However, using creams with techniques such as micro-needling, results in a much higher percentage of cream absorbed by the skin so this method is probably the best method for many people.
