New Book Explores Another Aspect of the character of God

By Article Guy On November 14, 2009 Under Books, Shopping

It’s not something that everyone thinks about much, the innocence of God. But according to the author T. Russell Benedict at least, it’s a quality that is at the core of the very nature of God. But what does it really mean to us?

Among other things, innocence includes being free from guilt, free from negative intentions, and in some ways, even freedom from the very knowledge of evil. Do these definitions fit the’Big Man upstairs’? They certainly do!

To get a deeper grip on the very nature of innocence, the author then takes us into the innocence of the children, and how they react to things around them. And by drawing parallels, he shows us intriguing new ideas concerning the nature of God as well, and why He sometimes does the things He does.

So given that God has this innocence embedded in his nature, how does it affect how He deals with Man in general? Can our understanding of this innocence add to our understanding of His character on a deeper level? Can we reach a deeper understanding of, and appreciation for, His holiness, mercy, and love? Will it help us get a better handle on His deep senses of Justice, Fairness, and even Jealousy? The resounding answer is Yes!

Can His innocence describe why He created us, why He created Satan, why He created Hell, and even why He chose to allow His son to die a cruel death on Earth? The answer here is also YES.

But then the author takes us into the ramifications of his discussion. How should we respond to this innocence in God’s personality? What should our response to this be? If God is actually innocent in His nature, does He really deserve the anger, hate, and disrespect that people so often direct at Him? Would we do the same to children?

This book, available at http://www.TheInnocenceOfGod.com in both ebook and paperback forms, challenges the very way we think of God. You can’t read this discussion without having some new insights of your own. It’s the kind of book that leaves you pondering its message, long after you finish it. It belongs on the shelves of every person who wants to understand God on a deeper level, and how He interacts with us each and every day.
