How is Google Different?

By Article Guy On February 23, 2010 No Comments

Winning the search results game on the Google search engine is every marketer’s Nirvana. SEO Consultants usually focus on what it takes to win on Google because that is simply where most search activity takes place. Other search engines are not completely without value.

For internet search, Google is clearly the major provider and therefore deserves the most focus. Overwhelmingly, the Google search engine is the user’s choice for internet search – currently handling at least 80% of all search traffic. According to others, this figure may be as high as 90%. Google provides an easy to use and understand search interface that most internet users prefer. Is this changing? Possibly.

Yahoo! has beaten its corporate head against the Google brick wall for many years and has so far failed to attract many Google users. The Bing seach system has been upgraded, had a face lift and has supposedly improved its search delivery system. According to the Bing marketing team, Google results are confusing and often irrelevant. They even came up with some good ad campaigns to support this message. Microsoft’s mapping system is a useful feature found – among other enhancements – on Bing. (The Virtual Earth mapping platform is clear, easy to use and offers interactive advantages over other competitors).)

From the consumer’s standpoint though, Microsoft’s ‘Bing’ search engine essentially functions the same as Google, and attempts to deliver the user exactly what the user wants without ancillary and possibly irrelevant page links. Fewer paid links clutter the Bing results page.

Does the future of internet search belong then to Bing? Strategic mistakes are probably the only obstacles to continued Google dominance of this market space though. And given Google’s ability to make good decisions, this appears unlikely. Google wins the 80-20 rule here by controling 80% of all traffic and leaving the rest for others.

In cases of similar search requests, do various engines produce the same results? Search engines elsewhere will display results different from those found on Google. Naturally, each search engine has a unique process for determing results. Still, these processes generally work the same and within some variation, deliver similar results. The Yahoo search engine occasionally places new pages highly on search results! and Bing – but will frequently fail to appear on Googe as that system places newer places up at a slower pace.

Attempting to optimize for both search engines is probably a waste of time and effort until Microsoft and Bing can come up with a good enough new feature to hack into the Google market share. Besides, optimizing for Google results have shown to be reasonably effective for Bing and Yahoo! Optimization methods useful for Google are also useful for other engines.

SEOs should track search results for all pages in Yahoo! and Bing – particularly for new pages. Pages recently posted will usually appear as results more quickly on Yahoo! and Bing – which serves the remaining search request traffic.

In the end though, it is not worth varying your optimization efforts for one search engine over another. The key elements will always be:

  • Useful content,
  • Relevant links,
  • Frequent updates.

Stick to these fundamentals and select your keywords carefully, and over time, your page should compete well on all search engines.

Link Building By Hand

By Article Guy On February 23, 2010 No Comments

Manual Link Building is a the strategy of gaining inward links as defined by Niche Blueprint 2.0, by going straight to search engines and asking for varied sites to link to yours.

Many of us believe that the best way to get links is to hire a service that does all the grunt work for you. After all, building links is patience-testing and boring. But others believe that there’s still a place for manual link building in the growing businesses world.

Manual link-building is starting to become less and less often utilized in business but it remains to be one of the the cheapest and effective ways for home businesses to rank well in the search engines. And it works particularly well for local-specific businesses.

Most would agree that it would not be the smartest move for little shops and local businesses to spend months ( or years ) publishing articles and collaborating in social networking until they begin to get enough of their content linked to to improve their search engine listings. Even if they do offer great content, this does not mean they will be linked to. This is especially true for the sorts of enterprises who don’t really have to do business over the Internet. They still need to be found on the internet, however.

If you run a small business or you are doing SEO for a small business, bear in mind that it is OK to find some local directories and by hand request some links. Of course, those few top paid directories like Yahoo, BOTW, and Business.com, are the ones that Google especially admires so it can’t hurt to request help from them as well . You can particularly win out if you do not have much competition. Merely a well-optimized website and a few quality backlinks could get you on the 1st page of any of the major search engines.

Another excuse you may want to go with manual directory submission (even if you are not a little, local business) is perhaps because the most respected and credible directories have their own custom application script which implies you must submit to them by hand. Automated tools simply can’t fill in those unique forms. So catalog submission services that use automated tools to submit usually finish up submitting to lower quality directories that won’t actually do anything to enhance the ranking of your website. While automatic submission tools can fill in the forms on certain submit pages, they don’t always fill in the date correctly so that the submission could be incomplete. But it is’s not unusual in a situation like this that the report you receive asserts your submission went thru when in reality it didn’t. If the category is not identified correctly, a service will fail to submit also. These are just one or two reasons you would like to steer clear of submission services that use automated tools.

You can, however, go for submission services that do the manual link building for you, without using automatic tools.

Earn Money From Your Writing Skills

By Article Guy On February 18, 2010 No Comments

I am one of many people who have realised the many benefits that writing articles can bring. Article marketing is now widely recognised as an excellent way of promoting a website, however there are many more opportunities out there to make money for the budding writer.

I just happened to stumble across the idea of writing articles around eight months ago when I was discussing different forms of website promotion with a friend of mine. I was looking at ways in which I could attract more visitors to my own sites and he advised me to commence writing articles.

The advice was sound and I have not looked back since. Writing articles is a superb way of gaining extra one-way backward links to your site and the readers of each article are also potential visitors. I have found using a professional article submission service to be more than useful as well. I run a stuttering therapy website where I offer a speech course to enable people to achieve fluency. Thanks to the power of article marketing more and more people are able to gain access to quality stuttering and stammering help. I also sell external doors on a part time basis for a composite door company.

I attempt to write around seven articles per week which is not easy at times but is something I am aware will help my sites.

In each article I try to give advice and attempt to make them enjoyable for any potential reader.

There are other ways that people like myself, who enjoy to write can make money from their skills.

Other people are also aware of the benefits of article marketing but just do not have the time to write themselves. These are the types of people who really need a good content writer to work for this as an article marketer. To become noticed or to get your name out there is very easy; there are a number of websites on the net which enable people to advertise the services that they offer for free.

You can also earn additional cash by writing freelance for mgazines and newspapers. If your skills are of a higher enough quality and what you write is of interest to a wide audience, there is no reason why you could not earn money in this way.

The power and need for content has never been so great. Webmasters are eager to purchase quality and original content as many of them do not have the time to create their own. I am sure that I am not the only one that has noticed all of the rubbish that is on the internet at the moment; this is exactly the reason why your skills as a top quality writer are much sought after.

Many people might argue that they are not well enough educated to be accepted as a writer in certain quarters. This may well be correct for some people out there, however if you do not try you will never know. Content is king as they say and if your content is good enough and of interest, why would people have an issue with your lack of examinations etc.

Ensure that your content is easy to read and that all of the words are spelt correct. The world is your oyster, go for it.

The Best Five Article Marketing Websites

By Article Guy On February 18, 2010 No Comments

Are you interested in web promotion and web marketing? Have you discovered the power of article marketing yet? Are you attempting to attract additional traffic to your website? Are you hoping to make a lot of money online via your website. Now I am not sure how you have answered these questions, however I would have answered yes to all of them. Taking my last eight years of experience, I truly believe that writing articles is one of the best, if not the best forms of promoting a website and in this article I am going to write about what in my opinion are the best five article marketing websites to submit your articles to.

I have been writing articles for eighteen months and I must say that I aim to continue writing more articles as a way of promoting my own websites for many more years to come. I have had great success from it and whats more it is free. I would strongly advise any person who is looking to gain more traffic to their sites to commence writing articles asap. As a rule I attempt or have a goal to write an average of one article per day. On certain days when I have more time or when I am in the mood for it, I write a lot more than just one, my record thus far has been seven in one day.

In every day life I am involved with various products including quality external doors and a injury at work claims service.

In first place and my most favourite of all of the article marketing websites is Ezinearticles. It is important to be clear about their guidelines when submitting to this site as they do not accept any old rubbish, which of course has to be a good thing.

I also submit to articlealley, articledashboard, goarticles and ideamarketers.

I used to also submit my articles to searchwarp but they have had a bit of a disaster and they now use the no follow rule on all links in the author bio.

One other article directory which I have heard is very good is buzzle. I have yet to submit to this site but am likely to in the near future.

Where To Get Assistance With Your Costly Medicines

By Article Guy On February 11, 2010 No Comments

Prescription medicine help is available to millions of Americans. You have perhaps heard or seen ads or commercials that people could obtain their drugs for free, or at a low cost. Have you seen the Help For Prescription bus? Television star Montel Williams talks about an outfit who helps patients acquire assistance if they can not come up with the money for the prescription medication they are prescribed. These prescriptions help them with their illness. There is even an orange van who crosses the countryside to advertise free medication programs. When cost saving measures aren’t sufficient to help meet the expense of prescription drugs, there are a number of plans calculated to help a person stretch your medical dollar. Hospitals, medical schools, government agencies, and maybe prescription drug companies themselves offer a selection of strategies to help patients in need of help. You’ll likely have some help applying for these programs, and could have to give certain private financial details, however the payback might be huge.

If you are without medical insurance or your insurance company doesn’t cover your prescription drugs, receiving the medications you require may be expensive. This is more than ever true with prostate cancer patients.

For people that are undergoing chemo treatment, the need for anti-nausea prescription medicine is pretty important because of the upset stomach that the chemotherapy causes. Chemotherapy will sometimes cause you to become anemic so an iron supplement is frequently given. It becomes a vicious cycle. The bottom line is that the prescription medicine costs for a cancer patient paying out of pocket could surpass a mortgage payment!

What to do when you need help with your prescription drugs.

Not taking your medicines is one of the final things you want to do. There are quite a lot of programs to be had which provide free and reduced cost drugs assistance.

• Social Worker- Nearly all hospitals boast a social worker that will help you get grants and other programs aimed at assisting you with your healthcare requirements. This ought to be your earliest stop in searching for aid. Constantly report to your medical doctor if you cannot pay for medicine or care. He or she could know of a package personally to help you, also.

• Partnership for Patient Assistance- The Partnership for Prescription Assistance is a outfit designed at assisting people that can’t afford their prescription medication. They have created a database of in excess of 100  programs and more than 5000 drugs provided for reduced or no cost aid. They help out in determining what you are entitled for and applying for the aid. The benefit is free and offered online.

• Drug Companies- A great deal of residents wouldn’t consider prescription drug companies provide assistance, although several will. Forest offers a prescription package for individuals taking their prescription medication and can’t find the money for them. Locate the manufacturer of the medicines by asking your doctor of medicine or pharmacist and check the website for prescription medicine assistance programs.

You aren’t the only one with this issue. Please, don’t be mortified.
